Do or someone you work with have a participatory science project idea you want
to develop?

The University of New Hampshire will offer an online course focused on
designing citizen and community science projects from initial planning to
project launch. Running for 6 weeks, Mar. 2 - April 13, 2025, participants

project design, offered through an asynchronous, 36-hour format for maximum
flexibility. You'll experience the material though videos, recorded
presentations, selective readings, interactive discussion boards, hands-on
assignments, and optional live Zooms and one-on-one coaching sessions.
Instructors include Malin Ely Clyde and Alyson Eberhardt, who have extensive
experience as participatory science practitioners, researchers, and volunteer
coordinators with UNH Cooperative Extension and NH Sea Grant. Cost: $999 with

Hear what participants are saying about this workshop:
"Taking this course has been a transformative experience for me. It has
significantly strengthened my ability to develop, execute, and evaluate citizen
science projects. What stood out most was the emphasis on balancing scientific
rigor with community engagement, which will be invaluable in my professional
work. I now feel better equipped to design projects that empower communities
and produce meaningful data. I would absolutely recommend this course to
others. For anyone looking to enhance their skills in citizen science or
participatory projects, this course offers a comprehensive and inspiring
foundation. One specific example is how the course guided me in refining the
protocols and evaluation metrics for my projects. These tools will ensure their
long-term success and sustainability." - Jóhann, Iceland
