I just tried to use V 4.3.0 for the first time (Kubuntu 14.04; delivered by
update) and it is just about unusable when the video is on. Here are the
symptoms:
1. Remote user complains about video freezing and voice garbled.
2. Video and voice from remote user OK.
3. If I turn off the video, the voice become quite clear.
4. Send network bandwidth approx 27 kBytes per second, which is about what
the Internet bandwidth tools tell me I have available on this connection
today.

It seems to me that the new version takes every ounce of bandwidth it can get,
with no cognizance taken of the bandwidth available.

Anyone else seen this?

Anyone know how I can limit the resolution / frame rate used by Skype? My
webcam is a Logitech S 7500 USB QuickCam (1.3 Mp).

Of course it could be coincidence; and my bandwidth is just rubbish today...
