Obviously, every change to default configuration makes behavior harder to
understand, but I did not read the example as a *suggestion*. I read it as an
illustration of how it behaves. FWIW, I would have found an example using
several (2) names more interesting, as that is the most complicated case to
understand.

If that directive is considered "dangerous", I would prefer a section with 1
example and 1 warning against overriding to a section without any of these.
