This seems like a good way. However, how search engine friendly is it?
If I had links to /articles/topic/subtopic/article/display?lang=en and
/articles/topic/subtopic/article/display?lang=de, would say google
index the article in both languages?

This is not a concern for me in this project, but it may be interesting
to know for future projects
