I certainly think it would be a good idea to build up a bunch of
composable apps that can be integrated into a site.

It would be cool to develop these as community components, so that if
someone wants to add a particular bit of functionality to their site,
there is one obvious way to do it. Not to preclude other approaches, but
to provide a "safe default" method.

I'd be happy to contribute to things like this, time allowing, as I'm
sure it will come in useful. There was some concern about conflict
between World Online hosting certain kinds of apps and selling
Ellington. Anyway, some other people have Trac installations
and I'm sure someone would host it if necessary. Anything is better than
sourceforge in my experience...

I think a good first step would be to hash out a concrete set of
requirements on the wiki.
