Here you are right - if the original software was GPL (and I have no idea if it was), then any modification needs to be GPL, and needs to be labeled as such. They are not allowed to "forget" to label it as GPL, or invent new rules instead. So clearly if they did this, they violated the GPL. > Are you trying to protect what they did in any way?
