I've been a longtime Firefox user and advocate, but recently I've begun to transition to Chrome. (If anyone cares, I'll happily discuss the thought process that could pull a near 180 reversal, that I thought could never happen.)
One thing I've noticed: If I go to the chrome download page, http://www.google.com/chrome and I want to download the installer and save it on my network share . I just click the "Download" button, and then click "Accept and Install" . No security warning, No download dialog, No plugin installation, No nothing. It simply launches the installer magically. It goes directly from "I'm looking at a harmless webpage" to "Now I'm running an installer on your computer." And that creeps me out. Heebie Jeebies. I feel like there's a million ants and creepy crawlies on my skin. Brrrrbbrbbrrrr... Anyone else have the same thing? I don't suppose it's just me.
