In fact, reading that over again, there's enough stuff that's changed since
April, I think I'll go make an effort to update those docs.

The main differences in the last 6 months are:

. Zimbra should be considered seriously. Yahoo will not be acquired
by MS.

. Google released "google apps sync for outlook" which makes outlook
a viable email client for windows, including addressbook sync. It also does
calendar, and this is only good enough for any one person to manage their
own calendar. However, there are serious bugs when users try to collaborate
on calendars together ... groups and invites and stuff like that are poor
and buggy, and sometimes require deleting and recreating your profile.

. Thunderbird 3 has been released. I have not tested it personally,
but one guy who I talked to said it eliminates the problems we saw in
Thunderbird 2. I will only believe it if I see it.

. Mac Addressbook says it can sync to google now, regardless of
iPhone, but when I tested it, I got no connection whatsoever and no error
messages to explain why, and no help to fix it.

. For Mac, Entourage EWS has been released. This is now a viable
exchange client for mac. This makes Entourage for mac as good as outlook
(or very very close.)

. Apple released much improved support for Exchange in Mail.app,
Addressbook and iCal. Although this is greatly improved from before, it's
only comparable to the state that Entourage was 6 months ago. The apple
native solution is clearly not as good as Entourage EWS. Specifically: You
guessed it: Calendar bugs and IMAP inferiority.
