This is where current one-list-for-all falls down, it's hard to decide the borderlines of the discussion and it attracts churn in the form of metadiscussion on whether the topic should be discussed here or not. Based on the other thread, I would see the following distinct areas of discussion: 1) SailfishOS & app development topics 2) Application developer <> users topics (feature requests etc) 3) Community topics (events, issues, love, whatnot) So right now it seems the talk for each area happens in: 1) this list 2) TMO & TJC 3) this list & TJC As mentioned elsewhere, TMO and TJC have (peer-)moderation possibilities so they are best to handle general topics that might suffer from rant-ness or other kinds of community poison. On the other hand, the mailinglist is of much less volume so the development topics get better exposure to Jolla developers. This is probably easy to achieve on TJC too with proper tagging and notifications though. So, based on the above I would suggest that this mailing list (or it's successor, eg TJC tags) would be _strictly_ limited to development discussion and any meta/community/whatever topics directed to (other parts of) TJC. Category 2 from above does not strictly need attention Jolla developers, so I don't see any problem if they happen on TMO or on other venues the app devs happen to like. -- Kalle Vahlman, Movial Creative Technologies Inc.
