Not only, I suspect an upgrade from rust-1.83.0 to rust-1.84.0 being
responsible for a SIGSEGV and Thunderbird FTBFS on all f40,f41,f42 now;

My recommendation would be to build current LibreOffice, Firefox and
Thunderbird with new compiler versions and tool chains before landing
them. This seems overkill, but those are the largest projects known to
most likely break tool chains.
