The thing is that this is part of a product for the company I work for. I don't think my boss wants _all_ code opensourced. I hate to say, but the answer is no for the moment. I just talked about the init as it showed a point that it is not necessarily the complexity that slows down booting. It's the parallelism. But I seriously evaluated minit & ninit (somewhere on internet). For a regular desktop system, they would work as well, & are better documented. our 'fdev' just dropped 5 seconds, but mdev is capable too. Kurt >
