For the record, I've also run the merge_tests and mergeinfo_tests over WebDAV using 1.6.x client (without this cleanup code) and trunk server (with the corrections). The lack of cleanup code on 1.6.x doesn't appear to be critical for the codepaths our tests exercise, but I still support the backport thereof. -- C.
