Well, specifically for this approach, the feature would be enabled by
default and we're adding the option to disable.

I do agree with the slippery slope part.
But as it turns out, OVS is getting bigger and bigger with each release,
which means fewer and fewer devices can support it.

I am open to any other suggestions ?
And I am not insisting on any specifics as long as they allow some option
to reduce OVS' size.
