Sure, that would be appreciated. You needn't have any formal appointment from the project in order to approach journalists and provide them with up-do-date, accurate information.

But at the same time, even with the new structure, Apache OpenOffice is obviously the continuation of the OpenOffice.org project in terms of product and user resources.
