For a Mediawiki installation I'd suggest the Translate Extension to handle multilingual contents: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Translate
It's really convenient for us, translators, and really easy to use for not-so-technical people; but, in exchange, it needs some tweaking in original pages.
