When we generate po files, we should ensure that the version is not empty, since we dont use it, it can be filled with anything. I suggest to use "sed -i" when generating po files. I have seen now several times, that we tell translators not to worry about the warning from e.g. POedit. However if you look at the POedit source you will find that a high important warning (like version field) might supress other "real" warnings. Therefore I highly suggest we change our advice, and tell translators to fill out version with e.g. aoo40. rgds jan I.
