Hi, all,
I created a wiki to show some fidelity improvement samples since AOO
3.4.1 in our current build:
http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Fidelity_Improvement_Since_AOO341#OOXML_Support
The purpose of this wiki is to promote our significant fidelity
enhancements with shining samples. Of course not all the
enhancements/defect fixes can be included in this wiki.
Thanks to Jian Yuan Li, Lei Wang, Jian Hong, Zhe Wang and Ying Zhang and
other people who send me a lot of good samples. I didn't finish the wiki
yet. While any comments are welcome.
Cool stuff - Thanks for the effort so far.
I am looking forward to see all these kind of improvements presented like this.
For now I have 2 questions:
1. I think the contents in this wiki should be in the release notes of our
coming 4.0. Maybe a link to this wiki page from release notes? Any
suggestion?
Yes, such things should go into our Release Notes.
From my point of view these improvements should be directly in the Release
Notes - they should be made very visible to the users who will checkout what is
in the next release. The compare of screenshots is an easy way for our users to
get an idea of the improvements.
Thus, we can use this wiki as one of the input sources for our Release Notes.
2. Currently I can not upload the file of docx, pptx or xlsx. I wonder if
any one can help to add them to the permission list?
As far as I can see for all improvements we have an Bugzilla issue.
Thus, I think it is enough to have the sample files attached to the Bugzilla
issues - no need for duplicates. If the samples are attached to the Bugzilla
issue you can provide a direct link to it - e.g. link to sample file of issue
119963 - https://issues.apache.org/ooo/attachment.cgi?id=78258
Best regards, Oliver.
