Hi,

Christine's idea is a good compromise - small local meetings with a
central virtual conference.

In my opinion these RegiCons should be located at places where many OOo
members don't need to move (or move just a short distance).

With one large OOoCon every two years meetings between people from far
away would be possible and keep alive the personal contact.

I'm sorry of being the bad guy in here :-) But I still don't see this is a good idea. I can only talk of the situation in Germany, of course, and others may have a harder time, but: Often, active OOo folks meet through the year nontheless, and the most interesting thing to see at the annually OOoCon for me is the face-to-face-meeting with people I don't see so often throughout the year, people living away. Given the speed of development and how fast things go these days, two years is a too long time frame to meet.

I am still not comfortable with the idea of giving up the annually, international OOoCon -- to me, it would be a great loss to the community.

Florian
