Perhaps that was a bit strong and it was not directed at anyone personally but was written towards the Marketing Project in general out of frustration.
Yes, I am disappointed and frustrated. I also watched a lot of things happen here during the last year. The best thing that happened was the Get legal - Get OpenOffice.org campaign. That was most original thing I have ever seen come out of this project. It is brilliant. It is, sadly, the only really original thing I've seen that was readily accepted. A lot of other ideas seem to get lost in the politics here. I would expect that from a large corporation, but not a volunteer community. Perhaps I expect too much. I guess I will just leave it alone and stick to distribution only. The very first sentence in your first mail in this thread included the words "until someone in charge wises up and realizes"...suggesting that people don't realize and need to be enlightened...aka that they are too stupid (well, simplified). Maybe i overreacted on this, but your tone in the very first mail was not very friendly. Ok, so you have a history with the OOo marketing team. Don't know about it, not my business. > So you didn't have > to be a smart ass with the line " Cool Idea! I take it you will deal with > the resulting copyright infringement charges? Thanks!" Wouldn't have reacted that way if the tone of your first mail wouldn't have sounded like these marketing guys are just too stupid. But ok, sorry, might have gotten that into the wrong place. Cannot say anything to the more general complains about the volunteer treatment of the marketing team since i'm pretty fresh.
