The main argument is really that its too trivial an issue to waste any
resources on. I'd say if there is any significant cost at all its not
worth it. There are far higher priorities.

BTW, I used the same thing with the INGOTs. www.theINGOTS.org. Why? It
tells everyone the URL so they can easily remember where the web site
is. I had to use theINGOTs because INGOTs was taken. Interestingly I
just did a Google search for INGOTs and it comes up with

Premier Ingots and Metals
Golden Ingots Chinese Symbols of Wealth
www.theingots.org/

So I don't think either the name or URL is any significant disadvantage
even though you could say theINGOTs.org is awkward. I was told by a
professional marketing person from IBM I just had to change the name.
Unless the name is just outrageous, once it gets known that's all that
matters. I mean who would choose IBM as a trade name if it wasn't made
famous already?
