That's a big patch and as you said it needs a proper review. Considering that the release should be in two weeks I think we shouldn't rush this in 7.6. That's my 2 cents but it also depends if we do a 7.7 or not. Otherwise I don't know if this could go in a patch release (assuming that 7.6 is the last 7x release).
