Hey everyone,

I have been one of the supporters for releasing Java 1.4 end of Aug or early
Sep. I think we are getting close and most of the targeted items will be
wrapped within one or two weeks.

I just realized that Spark 3.5 is almost out. A few release candidates failed
but it is converging. How would everyone feel about targeting Spark 3.5 support
with our Java 1.4 release? I can add that support fairly quickly cause we
already consume the 3.5 APIs and adapted the tests internally. I think that
would be a good idea cause there is no critical items to deliver in 1.4 as of
now and it would be really unfortunate to wait for 2-3 more months for Spark
3.5 support if we don’t include it now.

Any thoughts? Does anyone need 1.4 asap?
