I am not a big fan of flashing buttons or changing color of a button. How about a simple line at the bottom that says: "Something went wrong. Installation aborted. Check Console Log for more details".
This should be simple enough to be translated into all locales we support. And the error messages displayed in the console log already are locale specific.
