Unless collecting metrics leads to plague and suffering...I'm not following the dark rhetoric here. Nothing concrete has been said about what to do with the data we might collect. Are we afraid that the data will reflect badly on our initiatives? And if so, why? If we find that the data we gather is not sufficient or does not show anything of use, we can simply choose not to act on it until we have refined out methods, or not at all. But we won't know any of this til we try.
