Wrong on the 'donate' bit - the grant doesn't donate the code to the foundation but licenses it to the foundation. You are correct though that if they grant it to us then we don't have to do attribution. +1 to your suggestion, with the addition of adding ASL 1.1 to the LICENSE file if it's ASL 1.1 rather than AL 2.0.
