Hugo, are you talking about having a CTP release when the feature is somewhere
near ready but subject to change?

I think this is a really good idea. Publish a RTM (if we can call it that) then
shortly after people can release CTP with their features in. Interested parties
can then try, discuss and give feedback. This then gets rolled up into the
next, or future RTM version.

It could help with testing and I feel would help prevent mad dash races to
squeeze stuff into the next release.

I guess there would need to be some management of the whole process, but I
really think it could work.

Regards

Alex Hitchins

Subject: Re: [PROPOSAL][Merge] Windowsfication of management server

Is there a notion of silent preview (possible) in our release scheme?
Maybe accompanied with a big nullification of warranty. It seems we don't have
anything like 'experimental'; a class of features that maybe removed for
reasons explicable to the greater public. It seems like whatever we do we will
paint ourselfs in the corner while we would want to segregate between core
functionality that will be supported till the foreseeable end of time and
features of which we are not yet sure they are as such useful. (I should start
a [DISCUSS] but i think it is very applicable to this feature.)
