Thanks for the reminder. The outcome of this experiment was inconclusive.On the one hand, we know we didn't make anything worse. The skipping behaved as expected, and wasn't a burden on sheriffs. We didn't make wait times any worse.
On the other hand, it appears as though we improved wait times for the target platforms, but the signal there isn't clear due to other variables changing (e.g. overall load wasn't directly comparable between the two time windows).
We've left the skipping behaviour enabled for the moment, and are considering some tweaks to the amount of skipping that happens, and which branches/platforms it's enabled for.
