I installed the PPA - thanks Daniel! While I do not see a black bar in the Displays control panel, after restarting Unity (log out/log back in) , the launcher is on my primary monitor.
hooray! I'm afraid to run CCSM to set it to not dodge windows - last time I ran CCSM in 11.10 it hosed Unity and I had to reset it to get it back... My google'ing the CCSM stability sounded like it was not too safe to run in 11.10 yet. Is CCSM stable now?
