So PS/2 on /dev/psaux worked once. Then it would be a kernel problem or so. But you said earlier that pluging on PS/2 did not generate any character in "cat /dev/psaux" or "cat /dev/input/mice". This needs to be clarified. Please check your BIOS in case there some config for the PS/2 port. And check whether PS/2 works in other Linux/OS if you can.
