On CD-ROMs. (don't trust the result of reportbug: it was done on my laptop which gets upgraded from times to times with a good internet connexion) I indeed used the hopefully-already-downloaded-from-x.org-via-a-good- internet-connection X11R6.7.0-src[1-7].tar.gz files to get to the specs...
