On the other hand, the XFree86 and X.org distributions provide a very useful documentation in its xc/doc/specs/Xaw directory, which can be built as text, html or ps. (actually, several of specs/* should get built & installed in -dev packages, like Xt, Xmu, Xv, Randr, Render, ...)
