from a very fast investigation X.org only states that R6.7 will support IPv6. I will have to download the cvs code and see myself. > > I would suggest that you should wait until Sun publish their code, and > if then you think that yours is better (which it might very well be) > try to get upstream to use yours. > > For your information, I seem to recall that there was a set of patches > for IPv6 in X11 done by INRIA or perhaps the University of Paris VI. > (That's not us, we're Paris VII.) > > Juliusz > Just to be clear to everyone the main ipv6 patch is NOT mine, as i stated in different places of my bug report and I have never stated that is a major change or used big words to make my patch set looks better than other. My patches are there to make the KAME patch working on linux and at the same time i took the possibility to add a few things that are optional but that i feel usefull in an IPv6 environment (also behind feedbacks from other users of my pkgs) The plan is to push them upstream after a large run. We made a lot of tests but they cannot cover all the possible situations that all debian users can face. At the same time it is possible to revert back very easily if something is wrong since a cmd line option will simply disable ipv6. I was not aware of other implementations when i started merging and working on this one (talking about Sun and INRIA). Are they publically available?? any URL?? Thanks Fabio
