I doesn't seem to matter... I've now got it set to de_DE.UTF-8 (capitals
& hyphen) which seems to work. In my available locales (locale -a) it is
listed as non-capital, no hyphen -- you can check this if you like, I
posted the output two or three mails back.

Well anyway, my OpenOffice problem seems solved when I have
LC_ALL=de_DE.UTF-8  -- seemingly this is the only locale that will even
be checked.

Now, as I don't like to export this manually every time, I called
set-language-environment -- and made a terrible mess. More on that in a
new thread...
