Did some research on my own, and I guess my summary would be this: - There was some important bug in the 4.0.6 stable version - 4.0.7 were nowhere to be seen so 4.1.0 beta was deemed the better fix - Transmission development was abandoned so 4.1.0 never got out of beta - Meanwhile, 4.0.6 mostly works and is allowed on most trackers(?) In the meantime I built 4.0.6+dfsg-3 from older sources and it works as expected.
