Do you really believe it is a precise enough reference? My impression is that despite NetworkManager can easily handle his cases, he often demonstrate unmotivated aggression against NetworkManager developers. The reasons are unclear to me. Perhaps because armbian developers intentionally broke a way to configure network without NetworkManager while the same approach works fine on Debian.
