On jessie/sid I use virtualbox from wheezy. Works fine on my i7 (amd64
version), using this source:
deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian wheezy contrib
Which source are you using? Sorry, I missed the rest of the thread - are
you on stable (wheezy) or unstable?
