The Vigor 2710 has a web-interface for administration and system diagnosis. The handbook tells how to reach it. Did you take a look there? On the online staus page it shows the connection time, S/N ratio, and damping. It has dignosis tools, e.g., ADSL spectral analysis and traffic-diagram.
