a. different version number:

$ rmadison ircd-hybrid

ircd-hybrid | 1:7.2.2.dfsg.2-3 |     oldstable | source, alpha, amd64, arm,
hppa, i386, ia64, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
ircd-hybrid | 1:7.2.2.dfsg.2-4 |        stable | source, alpha, amd64, arm,
armel, hppa, i386, ia64, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
ircd-hybrid | 1:7.2.2.dfsg.2-6 |       testing | source, alpha, amd64, armel,
hppa, i386, ia64, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
ircd-hybrid | 1:7.2.2.dfsg.2-6 |      unstable | source, alpha, amd64, armel,
hppa, i386, ia64, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc

I'm not familiar with that package so I can't really tell what important
fixes got in or not.

Any reason you want ircd-hybrid specifically?

b. That it is tested to build on a Debian system
b1. That you don't even have to build it :-)
