I wouldn't really consider multi-IM clients as "jabber clients," as they 
usually fail miserably at the task in one form or another.  Kopete won't let 
you do service discovery, GAIM's just plain annoying (why does it open new 
windows for what should be an ignored line in STDERR?) and doesn't have 
service discovery, and the topper: Trillian Pro 3 won't let you send 
messages(!) and you have to pay for it.

If you  want Jabber, get a real Jabber client, use the transports to deal with 
the obsolete networks instead.
