I am having a problem with the version of most that came with slink (v4.8.1-0.1) which I am unable to solve despite looking in all the docs, man pages and the mailing archives.
I can view any file with "most <file>", except for gzipped files. Whenever I try that, I get <file>: failed to open for reading. I am running slink, with a few potato packages added (list of installed packages available if requested) to be able to run the 2.2.10-kernel and newer versions of diald, for example. I am in the process of installing and setting this machine up to be a server for the local mini network, so I have not run a whole lot of programs until now that might have produced errors as well and pointed me in the right direction as to where the source for the problem might be; this is the first error I have encountered in using the system so far.
