Normally, though, you'd just backport one or two packages - if you actually need *loads* of newer software, then Woody isn't appropriate, but that's probably a different argument and you requirements are likely very unusual. For instance, our database server runs Woody. It runs PostgreSQL and has some CGI scripts written by a colleague. For his scripts to run, we needed to backport a couple of Perl modules. That's all. I wouldn't really call it Not Woody.
