good links .. but

i guess, i prefer to see multiple files, of what files
changed as of that date
        backup/jun.30.tgz that holds previous 32 days of backups
        backup/jun.23.tgz that holds previous 32 days
        backup/jun.16.tgz that holds previous 32 days ..
        backup/jun.09.tgz that holds previous 32 days ..
        ...

        ( yes, i do mean make 30-day incrementals every week )

i can see when foo.c was corrupted, on jun 23 or jun 16...
        -  by the tme you find foo.c is corrupt or missing,
        you dont know when it occured

rsync overwrites the data, but didnt save a the old or current copy of the
file it was overwriting/rsyncing
