And, we never managed to release Debian Edu this "shortly" after a Debian release, so we were still improving and now for the first time can start development of the next release while Debian is doing the same.) The debian-edu* packages indeed are only relevant for Debian Edu, the only thing which might be a problem is that we reintroduced the binary debian-edu-config-gosa-netgroups package (build from d-e-config), which was in squeeze and which we then foolishly removed to fast for wheezy, as we had to add it again, to gain that needed functionality for gosa. But I actually dont see a technical problem with that. Then there are the slbackup and sitesummary packages, which could be used outside Debian Edu. But sitesummary contains three some important bugfixes (see attached changelog diff) which I believe are suitable for 7.2 by the normal rules anyway (except that they were not filed in the BTS, sigh), while slbackup, well, the changes are probably good to have too. (see attached changelog diff). Popcon for sitesummary (server) is below 100, slbackup has 120 installations, recent usage is very very low for both. So, last question: should these changes be acceptable, for the benefit of finally reaching the goal of having a Debian Edu release as proper part of Debian stable, which is IMO very worthwhile, shall we reupload those sources from jessie to wheezy with ~deb7+1 added to the version? And, thanks for reading this far and bearing with me. I do not only want Debian wheezy == Debian Edu wheezy, but also keep this achievement for the future...! And (also) for that I believe it would be best to finally reach this goal now.
