Considering that "/version=1.1" is not supported on older CUPS clients,
admins [who know about the directive] could well be disinclined to tell
users about it.

"Bad Request" is a catch-all error, however, and those tend not to lead
to documentation that most users will find easy to follow (cf. SIGSEGV).
