I problem is namely Step 2 of the debian developer process: Identity Verification. I don't like having to share photo-ids and my real id information, at all, ever. While the debian membership instructions suggest that you can block out relevant sections of your id for privacy reasons, they is still a demand for a "real" identity.
I sort of understand the rationale for this requirement, but I respectfully disagree with it as much as I disagree with applying debian licenseing requirements to documentation as well as software source code. I suppose, though, if I was really stubborn/confident I would just write my debian specifc app, let it be judged and used on its merits alone and see if its adopted. Ah well, I've been thinking for some time now about making the commitment to join debian despite my reservations. Just got to get around to it, I guess. --- Michel Dänzer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On Thu, 2003-08-21 at 23:31, William Crowshaw wrote: > > > > But I haven't researched the issue because I'm > unable (due to debian > > policies) to develop debian specific apps. > > Why?
