Well, in KDE, there's a config thing that will pick certain XKB layouts. Perhaps the one with Gnome has a problem with error conditions. > > I'm still not convinced there's an X bug. Try installing twm and logging in with that on each server. But log out of :0 before logging into :1. And see if you have the same problems. Frank
