debian 2.4 kernel images had both CONFIG_RTC and CONFIG_PPC_RTC enabled as modules, and modutils `helpfully' (in the MacOS sense) loads the wrong one every time. i think drow finally fixed that in the latest 2.4 kernel-image packages, but you generally have to manually upgrade kernel packages (its probably only fixed in 2.4.10 or 2.4.12, whichever is packaged). -- Ethan Benson http://www.alaska.net/~erbenson/
