> Do ifconfig wvlan0 up <ip address> <netmask> I'm connected through DSL with DHCP, so I'm not sure what IP address to use. I tried taking the IP and netmask numbers I found in the TCP control panel while connected with MacOS, then booting to linux and doing above ifconfig. I got:
SIOCIFADDR: Invalid argument I tried 'ifconfig myhostname wvlan0' (I had already put that recently assigned IP address in /etc/hosts) and if config then showed wvlan0, but was not connected to internet. I am also having a problem with another Linux machine I have, pretty much same deal. I installed a NIC, and drivers, ifconfig shows card after I ifconfig with an address, but why is not DHCP supplying an address?
