That might work for gnome and kde, which are both fairly well defined, to ignore menu items belonging to each other, but won't it be a game of whack-a-mole for the rest of the things with menu entries? (Just for example, I recently orphaned xgalaga, so its new maintainers decided to do something about #432398, which I had been sitting on for some time as this issue was not resolved. Now I check my gnome machine and it has two galaga menu items in amoungst the standard gnome games.) -- see shy jo
