Good point, I wasn't clear enough: All Debian packages should deposit their bitmaps/pixmaps in the stated locations; /usr/local/share/icons should be the only (?) place looked at for local additions. (Or do we prefer /usr/local/share/{pix,bit}maps? I don't like the multiplication of locations.)
